Recently named as Paul Hanagan’s replacement to be first retained jockey for Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum’s powerful Shadwell operation, Crowley claimed 189 winners from 1,015 rides in 2016––a strike-rate of 19%––and finished the year 25 winners clear of runner-up and former champion jockey Silvestre de Sousa.
